Hi REO

Some more questions regarding this processor upgrade.. does this require upgrading any other components besides the heatsink? I assume these processors are compatible becuase its compatible with the memory, graphics, etc, etc

Any heads up on upgrading processor on thia ProBook laptop?? Thanks for any guidance. ( from the manual it seems pretty straight forward, just worried about other components)

The rule of thumb here if you want help is to mark the post by the other person as the Solution. Not your own post because that is not the Solution.

Yes in the options pull-down. You can say "not solution" on your post and then re-apply it to the real solution.

Hi REO

I did a little research and compared my current processor to the ones you suggested,  here is a screen shot showing the socket types.  Does the socket types determine compatibility?  Your recommendations all have the same socket type, but my current processor in laptop has a different socket type..

let me know if socket type determines upgradability.... thanks for the help

Please remove my other post as the SOLUTION.

There is an error in the manual selection that I missed.

440 g2.JPG

It shows HP Support Center for the 440 G2 but the manual that is listed is for the 440 G1.

This is the one for your 440 G2 and the CPU can not be removed.

You would need to replace the system board.

Sorry for any inconvenience and miss understanding.

I will bring this to HP's attention.

Seems like someone is posting that the probook 455 g2 cpu is upgradable to sell their chips. In reality it has to be soldered on?  So who ever posted "glad the probook has that option" is misleading or someone is trying to promote cpu sales.
