Your machine is an HP Notebook - 17-by1053dx, its specs

It has  8 GB DDR4-2400 SDRAM (1 x 8 GB) and supports 32GB (2 x 16GB) max. You can upgrade to

 

    (a) 16GB: add same 8GB RAM to slot 2 or using the following compatible RAM

             https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/ct8g4sfs824a/ct15313644

    (b) 32GB: install 16GB each to both slots using the following compatible RAM

            https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/bl2k16g26c16s4b/ct16738982                   (RAM will run at 2400MHz)

The specifications do not indicate the maximum allowable RAM. Is there any place where I can verify that the Laptop is upgradable to 16GB and 32GB as you suggest?
