Is RAM upgradable on HP Laptop 14-dq0733ds? A friend is thinking about buying one and QVC and it has four GB of RAM. I just want to make sure that he could upgrade the ram later, if it turns out that he needs to.

Hi:
Notebooks with the Pentium processors have one memory slot, and the slot can support 1 x 8 GB of DDR4-2400 memory.
See chapter 1 of the maintenance and service guide on your notebook's user guides page for the memory upgrade info:

Hello,
Thanks for replying. However, your reply contradicts what the HP Store site replied to me:
- You want to know if the HP Laptop 14-dq0733ds has an upgradable RAM.
-Our record is showing that the RAM of this laptop is not upgradable since its soldered with the motherboard.

You're very welcome.
Yes, my reply contradicts what the HP store told you.
My reply is based on what the service manual for the model series indicates...the 4 GB of memory can be removed and replaced with an 8 GB memory chip.
Chapter 1:
Pentium Silver N5000 and Celeron N4000 processors
DDR4-2133 dual channel support (DDR4-3200 bridge to 2666, DDR4-2666 downgrade to DDR4-2133)
Supports up to 8 GB maximum system memory in the following configurations:
● 8 GB (8 GB × 1)
● 4 GB (4 GB × 1)
Chapter 5, pages 30 & 31 has the memory removal and replacement procedure.
The 'not customer accessible or upgradeable' statement shown in chapter 1's memory upgrade info means that HP wants the work done by an authorized service center.
It does not mean that the memory is soldered to the motherboard.
If the memory was soldered to the motherboard, the specification would have listed 'Onboard system memory.'
