I purchased an HP laptop a few months back. For the last few weeks, the laptop has been extremely sluggish, even when the CPU utilization is less than 10% and memory consumption is <50%
I recently checked the Disk SMART data and found the seek error rate is very high(65,000). On an average there are 300-400 errors every second. Is this a cause for concern? Should I get the disk repaired/replaced? The laptop is still under warranty...

Your machine could be read/write a lot. Seek error high can is one way to to tell you please replace it ASAP. Defrag HDD may reduce seek time and also less seek miss
