It is compatible but it will run at Gen3 speed as it is Gen4.

There are differences between models and different firmware for HP laptops.  Be sure that the vendor allows a return if it does not work.

May I ask if you could expound on this? "It is compatible but it will run at Gen3 speed as it is Gen4. " Thanks again!

Your laptop is generation 3 PCIe

That WD card is designed for Generation 4, a much faster system.  It should be backwards compatible with older systems.

If you are getting a 2TB m.2 you will need a heat sink. If your existing m.2 has a heat sink then remove it and put it on the new m.2.

If your old m.2 never had a heat sink then get one of those those thin copper type at amazon that come with a sticky heat pad.
