HP Spectre x360 13t
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Instead of rebuilding my wife's desktop, I'm wondering about her laptop's support for using an external GPU. While I can find and verify that it does have Thunderbolt 3 ports (2 of them), I can't find anything anywhere regarding if it will support using an eGPU with them. The various eGPU enclosure manufacturers all basically say confirm eGPU support with manufacturer.

Finding this information is basically impossible on the HP site as well as contacting tech support directly just to get this info via an email or chat. As it's registered under my wife's account I can't register it under mine to add it to the product name (leaving me to choose I don't own it, even though it's sitting in the other room) even just to post a question on a forum about it.

Overall, the entire experience is a test of patience just to find out one specification about a product I bought directly from HP.com for my wife.

So that all being said, does anyone know if a Spectre x360 13t touch can support the use of an eGPU through one of its Thunderbolt 3 ports?

Hi,

You do not give the exact model of the Spectre 13t could be loads of series and models

https://support.hp.com/id-en/document/c00033108

Yes if it has the thounderbolt port it will work

You can see the "older" Omen accelerator is compatible with Spectre 13

https://www.hp.com/us-en/campaigns/omenaccelerator/overview.html

Naturally building a cheap desktop woud have more power and might not cost much more if you search for the parts.

Hope it helps,

David
