If I don't use my mini Prodesk and Elitedesk frequently, can I always leave them plugged into the wall? Or is it better to disconnect them from the plug when they are not used frequently?

If you don't use the PC's frequently, it would be fine to leave them unplugged.

You may have to replace the coin cell battery slightly more often than if you left the PC plugged in, because when the PC is not plugged in, the coin cell battery maintains the BIOS and system clock settings.

Most of the PCs I own that I only use a few times a year, I leave unplugged.

I only had to change the coin cell battery on one of them and it had never been replaced before, and the PC was made in 2008 and I replaced the battery a year ago or thereabouts.

Thank you for your answer. I don't use the Elitedesk 800 G6 mini PC, the one I have eventually plugged in and most of the time unplugged is the oldest Prodesk 600 G2 I remember changing the inner battery because one day it started to beep, it was fixed but being old it shows me disk error to the herring where it suggests the recovery of information and changing the main M.2, I give it obviar and everything works well.

So I can keep it plugged or unplugged, I'm a little worried to think that when it's plugged in I can go because it has current inside? Or is there really no problem?

You're very welcome.

The only time I would be a little concerned about leaving a PC plugged in would be during a severe thunderstorm.

If you have your PCs plugged into surge protectors, that greatly reduces the risk of damage to to power surges.

No, I don't have lightning protection, I don't have a groundhole either. I think that depending on the need I will keep my mini PCs plugged in or unplugged. I understand that the internal battery is to maintain the BIOS configuration, it will include the time, won't it? These lithium batteries last between 1 to 2 years, then they have to be changed. Thank you.

You're very welcome.

Given your circumstances, I would definitely leave the PC's unplugged when not in use.

The coin cell battery maintains the BIOS and system clock settings when the PC is unplugged.

Your batteries only last 1-2 years?

Mine last considerably longer than that.
