We are not used to laptops with a fixed battery.  Is it ok to keep my new laptop connected to AC power all the time?  The Envy we had for the last 8 years had a removeable battery and was soon removed as we use the laptop as a desktop computer so leave it on during the day.  

 

I have found a suggestion online that using AC power as I suggest is quite ok but that it would be advisable to unplug the power and let the battery run down once a month or so..  Not sure if this is still correct after advancements ?  Obviously I do not want to cause any damage to the laptop in any way.

 

Grateful for any considered advice.

Hi:

 

I would suggest that you do not leave the notebook plugged in 100% of the time.

 

Doing so may lead to battery swelling.
