Hi:

Your notebook has a M.2 slot that will support both NVMe and SATA SSD's.

NVMe SSD's have faster read/write speeds than SATA SSD's have.

See chapter 1 of the service manual for the supported drive types.

You can use the 2.5" drive for storage and the M.2 SSD as the boot drive.

And another option would be to get rid of your optical drive (DVD+/-RW Double-Layer Writer) and replace with a 9.5mm Hard Drive Mounting Bracket HDD SSD Caddy Adapter such as this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09PHCRKC3/ref=sspa_dk_detail_3?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B09PHCRKC3&pd_rd_w=jlauV&con..., and fit with any 2.5-inch 7mm SATA SSD.

so I can keep my 2TB HDD and add another like 256 SSD for windows?

Yes, you would be able to do that.

You can, but I would recommend considering a 500gb NVMe drive.  Why?  Although you certainly want to use the NVMe drive for Windows, it also makes a lot of sense to keep your other programs on the faster drive as well and get the most out of the performance.  I'd recommend using the old hard drive for storage of files, photos, movies etc.

The price differential between 256gb and 500gb NVMe drives is fairly slim.
