Hi, my ac charging port is damaged and I'm wondering, is it possible to charge the battery via the USB-C port?
Greetings

It is not likely to work, but you can try if you are willing to take the risk of damaging the USB Type-C port.
I would replace the DC input jack. It is a plug in replacement part.
Maintenance & Service guide (for parts reference) See chapter 3, page 18, item 7
description and HP part number
Power connector (DC-in) cable L51995-001
Vendor sources in EU
The video below is applicable to your series laptop

"I didnt mean to use the same charger on the USB-C port, but to buy a new dedicated USB-C charger"
That would not change the risk you would take.
Replacing the DC-in port (with included cable connector) would be the better option.
There are many PC/Laptop shops in the Netherlands that can do this for you at reasonable prices.
I know that because I lived in the most northern part of the Netherlands for sixteen years.

HP does not say it is possible if it is not.
Your USB Type-C port does not have the required specifications.
The requirements are Thunderbolt and sleep and charge.
I do not see it as being worth the risk of purchasing and plugging in a dedicated 65 Watt USB Type-C power adapter. That could cause some damage.
