Hello,
The F5 key on my 2018 HP ENVY 13 (ah0051wm) will turn on a keyboard backlight; however, the light that escapes around the edges/sides of the top row of keys is annoyingly bright, especially in a darkened room...anyway to dim this light? The key shows three serial square icons almost as if to indicate a user can select 1,2, or 3 levels. Is it possible to dim this light or set how long it remains on, to save battery life? Thanks in advance for everyone's expertise and suggestions! Take care, ~Bill

@BluegrassBill I hope you know that not all keyboards have an option to use the timeout feature by design, that's only available on limited devices, that said, here's all you need to know about using the backlight of your keyboard:
Toggle backlight settings:
If your notebook computer has a backlit keyboard, press the F5 or F4 (some models) key on the keyboard to turn the light on or off. It might be necessary to press the fn (function) key at the same time.
If the backlight icon is not on the F5 key, look for the backlit keyboard key on the row of function keys.
