You could, after purchasing and installing the required hard disk cable, install a 2.5" PCIe SSD or legacy 2.2" hard disk..
There is no additional slot for an additional M.2 NVMe SSD.

I believe that all of the parts are there to add a 2.5" SSD in the 15-ec model series.
I know that is true for the 15-ec0xxx and 15-ex1xxx model series.
There is a plastic dummy drive there with a cable which you should see after you remove the bottom cover.
