Is it possible to install on the ZBook 15u G6 in WWAN slot - M.2 SSD ?

If yes, - which you recommend?
If not, - what is the reason?

As I understand it, there is an M.2 key B slot.

PS: I want to change the current ZBook 15u G3 to a new ZBook 15u G6. Unfortunately, G6 have only one M.2 slor, w/o additional SATA or other slot for SSD/HDD.
1Tb is not enough for me!

No. There is a single M.2 SSD slot. HP does offer it with up to a 2 TB M.2 PCIe/NVME SSD or you could buy one with  a very small SSD and replace it with a 2 TB.

In other laptops, for example DELL, Lenovo, a SSD can be installed in the WWAN slot (2242, 2230  or mSATA or M.2 Key B).

Why HP doesn’t have such an opportunity in this notebook - according to your words. Did you check?

If I had the posibillity to try, I would have done so instead wasting time in write asking questions to "specialists". (Now i'm work on 15u G3, and plan to buy new)

Yes, in other laptops (DELL, Lenovo) users confirm what in the WWAN slot, you can use SSD drives.

But HP is different in that it likes to set limits. For this reason, will apare this question .
Unfortunately, there were many requests from users about this, but not a single expert from HP either understood, or did not know, or could not explain.

Many users, like me, do not understand from what motives HP left only one M.2 slot for SSD, as if it were a cheap laptop.

Why did this question arise:
1) Very low storage capacity
2) The need for a SECOND disk, as often duplicate data on the second disk... yes, MHDD have more data safety and reparable.

And an additional question.

When to expect the HP Zbook 15u update? Will there be a second drive? Will there be a more capacious battery? Will there be improved cooling?

I understood exactly what you were asking. I have set up some Dells and Lenovos with SSDs in the WWAN slot. Some HP notebooks allow that, too. Earlier versions of the Zbook and other mobile workstation and business models. But when that is possible the Service Manual says so. In this case, it does not and I see this as the industry trend even in Lenovos at least, which I am also pretty familiar with. The T470 for example, could take an SSD in the WWAN slot but the Carbon X1 cannot. So its not some grand scheme by HP to deprive you of consumer rights; its a more complicated design and engineering decision that only the individual laptop makers understand. All we can say is: "it is what it is".

You seem to assume I and other Experts here work for HP and HP shares its plans with us. Not so. I have no idea what HP has in mind for future product launches. Again, good luck to you.
