Hi. I have an old HP laptop here. I am a programmer. I want to use it, and my question is is it possible to upgrade my laptop's processor? Its default processor is Intel Celeron M 520 @ 1.60ghz. Is it possible that i can replace it with higher processor like i5 or something? And my laptop's RAM is only 1GB, is it okay to replace its ram? By the way my laptop is DDR2. Please let me know. Your help will be my pleasure! Thank you so much.

You will need a hammer to jam it in the slot...i5 will not fit in your processor slot. You would have to use one of the ones listed in the Manual.

Here's the Manual:

2 gigs of DDR2-533 is the max memory but 2 gigs would be way better than one. It will not take 4 gigs.

Your motherboard has the Intel 940GML Northbridge which means you are pretty well confined to Celeron processors. It does not even accept a Core 2 Duo, just the earlier Core Duos. It is much older than Intel Cores like the i5 you ask about.
