Came across my old laptop today. It somehow lost the operating system some years ago, so I bought a new laptop. Before disposing of this , I was wondering if it would be cost effective to upgrade it i.e. with new motherboard, CPU, more ram and new hard drive? Not sure if it is at all possible to upgrade at all?

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
The laptop what you have is more than 10 years old and there are no upgrade options available for this computer.
It would be more economical to purchase a new laptop instead of upgrading this one.
Hope that answers your question and you have a great day!

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I thought that would be the case. I was only wondering if it was possible because the newer HP laptops that I have since purchased, are such inferior and flimsy builds, when compared to this one. Hey ho, that's the same with anything these days........not built to last 😂😂
