Is it possible to upgrade ssd on HP ENVY laptop model 17-ch0039nf?

You can replace the existing drive and install a larger capacity NVMe SSD, and if your question is in regard to upgrading the drive to a Gen 4.0 SSD, you can do that, but since your notebook's M.2 SSD slot is only PCIe Gen 3.0, the Gen 4.0 SSD will not run at its maximum advertised read/write speeds from the Gen 3 slot.
