Thank you for your answer.  :generic:  Do you mind letting me know how to find that information so I can learn?  I appreciate it!

I've been loking at this computer to buy in the very near future. The answer I got is yes, but...

It is not considered "consumer upgradable". Answered by Regional HP rep who was on the floor at Best Buy last week.

One has to remove the mother board to install up to 16g max. Requires 2x8g DDR3L SDRAM. Recommendation is that is performed by a tech.

It is possible, of course....

you have to follow aproppriate procedures descirbed in manual... but it is in fact possible.

My Envy X360 M6-w105dx came with 8GB and I bought another 8GB module same brand and specifications to avoid any kind of conflicts... I installed it an now it works really better!

Adding RAM is not as simle as in other notebooks, as the ram slots are behind the mainboard... but if you are handy skilled and patient enough.. the whole task will take about 45 minutes or one hour at most.

See page 42 of maintenance and service guide :

(despite of this guide says at begining about customer replacing or adding components...in page 42 and the rest of the guide there are several step to step guided procedures for replace an remove each component of the laptop.)

hope this helps

Ale

Hi, in my case (same model as yours)... despite of many memory modules that could just work fine..

I decided to buy the same exact memory module type of samsung sodimm to avoid any kind of sync or cycle timing errors etc.

You can find the exact model of  memory installed on your systme with allmost any system diagnostics utitlity.

For the SSD you can't use any kind of ssd.. you should be carefull on what kind of SSD to buy... as this model only accepts  SSD that are: slot M.2 and SATA III and TLC  and B key and NGFF 2280 form factor

so you should only use that very specific kind of SSD.

(I bought a samsung evo M.2 sata III B-key 2280 but it didnt worked at all because of the chip v-nand technology)

so be very carefull when buying the SSD

I would suggest to buy any well known brand but take the time to verify all specs:

M.2 SlotB-Key, Sata III, TLC technology and NGFF 2280 .. also capacity as per manual should be 256 GB.. i dont know if this laptop would accept 512 GB

Hope this Help.

Ale
