I have seen this question posted twice, but not answered. I do not completely understand the specification in the manual.
User GEDIT was trying to do this back in 2020 and I wonder if this is possible.

According to chapter 1 of the service manual, your notebook supports SATA M.2 SSD's.
HP offered SATA M.2 SSD's up to 512 GB in storage capacity, but that is normally only what HP offered in the model series, not the maximum capacity supported.
I don't see any reason why you could not install a 1 TB M.2 SATA SSD in your notebook.
The M.2 slot location appears rather difficult to access as is indicated in this discussion.
According to this discussion, you can upgrade to a faster performing NVMe SSD, even though the service manual indicates that only SATA M.2 SSD's are supported.
