HP Notebook - 15s-du0094tu
Microsoft Windows 11

I have a HP 15S-DU0094TU laptop.

Product Id.- 7NH61PA#ACJ

It is almost 2.5 years old and its battery has gone 100% worn out.

It can not run the laptop for even a minute without the power cord plugged in.

Now I am too busy to change the battery.

1. Is it harmful to use the use the laptop plugged in to power cord all time with the worn out battery installed?

2. Can this cause the machine to explode or any harm to the internal circuit board and the components?

3. What if I remove the battery and use an external UPS like power source and/or the power cord? Is if a safe practice for a non-removable Li-ion battery? Can this harm the laptop?

You can do it and it will "work" but not ideal. For one thing if you lose power there is no clock battery. Laptops with internal batteries use that battery for CMOS/RTC. So if power is withdrawn, all the BIOS settings and time are lost and have to be reset.

Also a fully depleted battery left with power going into it is at risk for swelling. Fire or explosion are not likely at all but a swelling battery is to be avoided. For the price of a battery and the minimal time it takes to replace it you can have a fully mobile computer that can give you a few more years of service. Otherwise you have something you have to limp along.

You have more than just a bad battery going on there. We can investigate for you whether the charging port is on an easily replaceable plug in board or soldered to the motherboard, but either way it is going to take a technician to fix everything that is wrong; its just a matter of degree.
