Hi, the 200 watt charger that came with my laptop died, but I have a 150 watt charger that came with my previous laptop. Is it safe to use the 150 watt charger for my new laptop, or should I search for a new 200 watt charger instead?

The input for the 200 watt charger I was previously using is 100-240 V ~ 3.0A 50-60Hz. It's ouput is 19.5 V == 10.3A 200.0 Watt. The part's number is L00895-003. It also says replace with HP spare L00818-850.
The input for the old 150 watt charger is 100-240 V ~ 2.5A 50-60Hz and the output is 19.5 V == 7.7A 150.0 Watt. The part's number is 775626-003. It says replace with 776620-001.

Thanks!

Safe? Yes, your charging circuitry senses the capacity of the adapter and will probably give you a warning about wrong charger. You could use it but it probably won't charge the battery while in use. If it were mine, I'd order a new one, can find them rasonably cheap on Amazon or eBay.

Mise only uses a 45W charger, I bought a spare HP charger off ebay for $18, so I wouldn't have to undo the velcro holding wiring to my caddy.
