Product: HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-p233cl (ENERGY STAR)

Hello, recently just out of the blue I went to turn on my laptop without luck. I just assumed it was dead just for it to not charge after many attempts. I’ve tried a different charger and in different outlets. Has my battery just been overused?

Hello @lsam1 

 

If the battery is deeply discharged, the BMS (battery management system) prevents charging for safety reasons. In this case, you must replace the battery.

Hi,

Try the laptop without the battery to make sure it's not a more serious issue. If the laptop works without it then a new battery is highly likely necessary. Perhaps a BIOS/UEFI bug might prevent the battery from charging.
