Good day guys! I've been recently given a new laptop for personal and business use, but while it seems the specs of HP 15-da2004nx are very decent for general purpose use, I was horrified that it only has 4gb of ram. I was very convinced that laptops/notebooks can't be upgraded until my friend told me that there are some upgradeable laptops out there. So, is my laptop ram upgradeable? I'm not very keen on laptop hardwares and restrictions. Thank you in advance.

Hi:
Since your notebook is so new, there is no service manual for it as of yet.
Here is the link to the older 15-da0000 model series service manual with the Intel 8th gen core processors.
https://content.abt.com/documents/90195/15DA0046NR_manual.pdf
The old models could support 2 x 8 GB of memory, so with the Intel 10th gen core processors, I would say that you could install as much as 2 x 16 GB of memory if you want.
Here is the link to the Crucial memory/SSD report for the older 15-da1000 model series.
They do indicate that 2 x 16 GB of memory is supported in this model series, so it should also be supported in yours.
Your notebook uses DDR4-2666 MHz memory according to the specs, so that is the memory you should buy.

Hello good sir, I really appreciated all of the advice you told me, not only that but you also provided me the older models that this is based on. There is a large amount of HP 15 series laptop/notebook models that made me so lost where to look for info and it lacks on this particular unit, thank you so much on telling me what particular tree to look for sir.
