Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Is the RAM of 14-ce1024tx upgradable?

I thought 4GB of RAM would be okay for me but it's starting to become too slow for mmy day to day work. I'm not really tech savvy and did not understand a bit of the manuals gotten from this site.

Hi,

Your PC will support max 16GB of DDR4 2400Mhz RAM (1x16GB)

There is one slot, so you can replace the 4GB stick with an 8GB stick or 16GB stick. You can purchase RAM from your preferred brand such as Crucial, Samsung...

Example of RAM:

https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/HP-Compaq/pavilion-14-%28models-14-ce1000---14...

On page 71 of service manual you can see the steps to upgrade RAM:

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06248869

An upgrade which would greatly increase the everyday performance of the PC would be to upgrade with an SSD and install OS and software on it. Your notebook should have an M2 slot for support for M2 PCIe NVMe drives such as the M2 Samsung 970 Evo Plus or similar. It will also support slower M2 SATA3 SSDs.

So, while installing the RAM, check and make sure the slot is there:

So, if it is there, install an M2 SSD.

Hope it helps,

David

Amazing!

Thank you for the tip on upgrading with an SSD. I'll explore this option if the RAM upgrade is still too slow for me.
