From reading the posts in this forum I see that the hinge problem has affected the different models of the 15t, and it was a serious problem that could cause a catastrophic failure.
All the problems reported date back a year ago or more.
My question is if the current batch ofspecifically the Envy 15t still has the hinge problem. I am considering buying one and I am postponing it until I know the issue has been resolved.
Any comment is appreciated, and thank you so much for your assisy=tance.

There is no way to know for sure, but the newer 15t has a significantly different hinge design than the ones that have been causing so many problems. I am too familiar with the failing hinge issue and after looking at the new design, I would say that it is a better one. Hope that helps... and I hope even more that that I am not steering you wrong.

Thank you for the good news. I followed up **bleep**. They told me that the issue had been fixed, but no supporting detaills like you provided, namely that the hinge has been redesigned.
I also went to the local Best Buy and asked if they have recently seen any repairs related to broken hinges on HP laptops. They were familiar with the problem but had not seen any such repairs in a considerable time.
I will go ahead and buy one and hope it performs well.
