HP specs indicate your model comes with an 8 GB LPDDR5 (onboard) memory, which is soldered to the system board hence not upgradeable.

Thanks, I read that, and unusual though it .might be, I wondered if there might stull be a spare 2nd slot.

I've bought this as it has good specs, would be nice if I could throw in £30 of memory later, rather than  spend £100 or more extra right now.
