  • Just wanted to know if this laptop has extra slot for ssd installation or i have to insert it in place of my hdd.

Hi:

 

Yes, if your notebook came with a 2.5" mechanical hard drive, and an Intel Core processor, there is a M.2 slot that supports NVMe SSD's.

 

HP only has the service manual for the older 15s-du0xxx model series, and even in the older model series, chapter 1 shows that NVMe SSD's were supported in the notebooks with the Intel core processors.

I do not believe that the notebooks with the Intel Celeron or Pentium processors have M.2 slots and if they did then the slot supports a M.2 SATA SSD only.
