It looks like you were interacting with @Riddle_Decipher, but he is out for the day. I'm KrazyToad & I'm at your service.

This Notebook Supports up to 16-GB of system memory but please note that the Memory modules are non-customer-accessible parts

Please refer to page 2 in the User Guide: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05493762

You can use any Manufacturer brand but it is recommended to use Rams of the same Frequency and in this case you can add a higher DDR4 Ram of 2400MHz

Hope this helps

Thank you and have a wonderful weekend 😊

@chanthar

Welcome to the HP Forums,

We'll be with you until it's all sorted.

Did you check the HP service and maintenance guide for details?

If not, Click here to verify the parts tested and approved for your device.

Solid-state drive (2280 M.2, SATA-3):
For use only on computer models with model numbers 15-cc1xx and 15-cc6xx:

  • 512-GB, 2280, PCIe, NVMe solid-state drive - 933706-004
  • 256-GB, 2280, PCIe, NVMe solid-state drive - 933705-005

(Go Crazy with the MODs, do what you love to your PC is what I say as a upgrade/custom enthusiast, However, HP recommends that you go easy on it as the device is equipped with parts that perform at its optimal performance and also, the upgradeable parts listed above are purely for your ease, though the decision to upgrade will be at your own discretion).

Let me know how that pans out

I will have a colleague follow-up on this to ensure it's taken care off, in case you don't respond in the next 24-48hrs,

As I need to know if the issue has been resolved, to get proper sleep at night.

So that means i can add a particular M.2 or SATA3 SSD  on my 15 cc123tx (not replacing on existing HDD)?

and i want to ask one more .

  1. My current RAM is 4GB , i want to upgrade more 8 GB on another RAM slot later . Is it OK  to use 12GB RAM on this laptop and I want to know which brand is used for RAM in this type of laptop because i think  adding same brand will be best . or  Is  it  OK with any manufacturer brand with 2400MHz DDR4 ?

Thanks .
