HP Pavilion - 15-cs3006tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, I have recently replaced battery of my HP Pavilion Laptop. I have HP Support Assistant and when I do battery check in it, it shows Battery Calibration Needed. I followed also the steps but still it shows same steps. I then followed UEFI Diagnosis and did Battery Test, but it also didn't work. After that whenever I try to do Battery Test in UEFI and when I click on start test, suddenly my cursor disappears, and nothing happens. I forcefully need to restart my laptop after that. Is there any other way to get rid of this calibration process or to contact customer person on call?

Hi @pikachu07,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It's unfortunate that you're facing issues with your laptop's battery calibration. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the problem.

Calibrate the Battery Manually:

  • Charge your laptop to 100%.
  • Once fully charged, keep the laptop plugged in for an additional 2 hours.
  • After 2 hours, unplug the laptop and let it run on battery power until it completely drains and turns off.
  • Plug in the laptop again and let it charge to 100%.

Update HP Support Assistant:

  • Ensure that your HP Support Assistant is up to date. Sometimes, outdated software can cause issues.
  • Open HP Support Assistant and check for any available updates.

Update BIOS/UEFI:

  • Ensure that your laptop's BIOS/UEFI is up to date. Manufacturers often release updates that address various issues.
  • Visit the HP support website, enter your laptop model, and download the latest BIOS/UEFI update.

Check Power Settings:

  • Go to "Control Panel" > "Power Options."
  • Make sure your power plan is set to a balanced or recommended plan.
  • Adjust advanced power settings and ensure that settings related to battery and power management are appropriate.

Device Manager:

  • Open Device Manager and locate the battery section.
  • Right-click on "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" and select "Uninstall."
  • Restart your laptop, and Windows will reinstall the driver.

HP Diagnostic Tools:

  • Download and run the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics tool from the official HP website.
  • Perform a thorough hardware test, including the battery test, using the diagnostic tool.

Remember to back up important data before performing any updates or major changes to your system.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
