I had to disconnect the keyboard for my household's HP EliteBook 2540p laptop so I could upgrade a memory module in the primary memory module slot. I've attempted to properly reconnect the keyboard. At present, the main keyboard stuff works, plus the system recognizes the memory module that I've put into the primary memory module slot. Unfortunately, the pointing stick no longer works. There's no doubt in my mind that it has something to do with the pointing-stick cable. After all, the pointing stick was working before. I've at least tried to reinsert the pointing-stick cable, but I haven't gotten the pointing stick to work again.. A certain HP technical advisor has told me that the pointing-stick cable needs inserted with the blue side up. In any case, I really hope that I didn't mess up the dedicated ZIF connector for the pointing-stick cable too much. Attached are photos that I've taken of the pointing stick-cable and its ZIF connector.Pointing-stick cable

Does the ZIF connector look too damaged? How about the pointing-stick cable?
