Hi,
Can I upgrade HP G62-B40SJ RAM memory to 8GB (2X4GB)?
Is this memory KVR16LS11 / 4 compatible with the HP G62-b40SJ?
Thanks
Yuval

Hello
you have the manual available from the product page:
HP G62 Notebook PC - Maintenance and Service Guide
unfortunately we don't have the specifications of the pc here, so we don't know what is already installed
the same modules must be added exactly
you can test the scan here
Welcome to Crucial USA
and maybe check with this software!
https://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html
what is indicated may correspond to this:
Kingston Technology - ValueRAM KVR16LS11/4 - Mémoire RAM 4Go 1600MHz DDR3L
does not seem compatible therefore!

It can run 8 gigs. Appears it is a first generation Intel Core system but I cannot locate the specs for it. It uses DDR3-1066 memory and the memory you ask about is a newer kind; DDR3L-1600. On that model you need to be sure to get low density memory 1.5 volt like this:
Post back with any more questions and please accept as solution if this is the info you needed.

No that is 1600 speed memory. You need 1066 speed memory and it has to be 1.5 volts and it has to be low density on that system. That means the memory module will have 8 black blocks on the side. This model series is very finicky about its memory and will not work if you try to install newer faster memory.

Hi,
Thank you,
About your previous post, The eBay item: Hynix 4GB DDR3 1066MHz 240Pin PC3-8500 SODIMM 1.5V.
The current memory installed on the computer has 204 pins,
Are you sure it's compatible?
Thanks,
Yuval

I answered here you need what is mentioned here
you also have here the recommendations of HP
for compatible modules
But it may be more attractive to buy two modules from another brand indeed!
information may seem contratictoire with HP reference we can find this:
HP 599092-001, 4 Go, 1 x 4 Go, DDR3, 1333 MHz, 204-pin SO-DIMM
204 pin
