Common problems for Battery

I have purchased a new HP 250 G10 laptop. I installed Windows 11 version 24H2, and Windows Update is up to date. HP Support Assistant also indicates that no new updates are available. I have manually downloaded and installed all the drivers from the official website. However, in Device Manager, it still shows an "Unknown Device" with the hardware ID: ACPI\VEN_HPIC&DEV_0003.

Please help me resolve this issue.

I have already checked older forum posts for solutions, where someone provided a zipped driver for manual installation, but it was meant for users on Windows 10.

Could you assist me in finding and installing the appropriate driver for my operating system?

Thank you in advance!

You're very welcome.

The only suggestion I can offer would be to try manually installing the driver.

To do that, go to the device manager, click on the Unknown device needing the driver.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update driver.

Select the 'Browse my computer for drivers' option and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file.

That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp153009.

Make sure that the Include subfolders box is checked and the driver should install.

Here is a partial copy and paste of the driver setup information file from that driver folder that shows driver support for the hardware ID you posted:

;
; hpcustomcapext.inf
;
; Installs the HP Application Driver Extension
;

[HP.ntarm64.10.0...16299]
%DeviceDesc% = hpcustomcapext_Install.ntarm64, ACPI\HPIC0003

If that doesn't work, use the driver from the Micrsoft update catalog website.  First file listed.

Microsoft Update Catalog

You will need to use a free file unzipping program such as 7-Zip to extract the cabinet file into a driver folder, or I have done that for you and zipped up and attached the file below for a manual install.

Here is a partial copy and paste of the driver setup information file from the Microsoft Update Catalog driver.

Did you upgrade to 11 or just do a clean install of window 11 by booting a USB?

You might want to make a copy of the factory restore in case you need to restore the PC.  The factory restore has all the HP drivers.  Go to the below site and enter your product ID including the 3 characters after the # character
If you have cloud recovery you can restore your system using a 32gb flash.
It may take an hour or more to create the recovery USB.

I followed this solution. However, if you look closely, the solution in his case is for Windows 10 version 20H2. I have Windows 11 version 24H2. So, are the drivers not compatible?

There is a W11 driver for that device on your notebook's support page:

Thanks Paul and everyone for the help. I just reinstalled this driver, but I still haven't solved the problem. The device is still listed as 'Unknown Device' in Device Manager. Any other ideas on how I could fix this issue?
