Hi,
I have an HP Victus Gaming Laptop 16-s0000.
Recently it started showing the error “CMOS checksum is invalid. The CMOS will be reset to the default configuration. CMOS Reset (502)” on its boot.
At the same time, the laptop has a charging issue:
- The charging LED stays orange all the time (whether the battery shows 100% or not).
- Windows detects the battery but it does not actually charge.
- I already tested with another compatible HP charger and the problem persists.
- Sometimes the laptop boots with the wrong time and date.
Because of this, I suspect a hardware issue with the charging circuit / EC / CMOS power, not a software problem.
Could you please advise on the next steps?
Is this a known issue for this model, and does the warranty or any repair program cover this problem?
Thank you in advance.
