Pavilion 65XXHP Pavilion 17-ab010nr (Touch) (ENERGY STAR)

I just need a new Laptop Charger.  I have a HP Pavilion 17-ab010nr (Touch) (ENERGY STAR).  It came with a 120W charger.  I found one that looks like it might be the right option, but it's listed as a 150W charger and I want to make sure it's compatible before I spend the money on it.

Part number:  776620-001
Part description:  Smart AC adapter (150W) - 4.5mm barrel connector, with power factor correction (FPC) - Requires separate 3-wire AC power cord with C5 connector

Will this work?

Its a bit complex. Your laptop came with the 120w adapter. The adapters for your model series are:

120 W PFC, S-3P, slim, 4.5 mm, (for N16-6X, NV 17P-G0, and NV 17P-G1 (KBL-U) only) 710415-001

135 W PFC, S-3P, slim, 4.5 mm, (for NV 17P-G1 (CFL-H) only) L15534-001

150 W PFC, S-3P, slim, 4.5 mm, (for products with 7th generation processors only) 776620-001

GNRC, 150 W PFC, slim, 4.5 mm, (for models with NV17P-G0 and N17P-G1 (KBL-H) only) 917649-850

Your laptop is a 6th gen Intel Core and the 150W you are asking about is only intended for 7th gen systems. Not sure what the difference would be, but why push your luck? You need 710415-001.

HP will no longer stock what you need in their parts store so you have to go to something like amazon or eBay.

New, compatible for $40 on amazon.com:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B07T1CBBXV/ref=dp_olp_all_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=all

New genuine for about twice as much:

https://www.amazon.com/Genuine-HP-19-5V-Adapter-710415-001/dp/B0767LVF6H/ref=sr_1_14?keywords=genuin...

a bit cheaper

https://www.amazon.com/Original-HP-M7-J003XX-M7-J078CA-M7-J178CA/dp/B07XGG8WD4/ref=sr_1_35?keywords=...

and cheaper yet on eBay:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-OEM-HP-120W-19-5V-6-15A-Charger-732811-001-710415-001-4-5MM-Blue-Ti...

Post back with any more questions and please accept as solution if this is the info you needed.

@Erikwlindq

Part # for the original charger is  710415-001 but  Part 710415-001 is no longer supplied. Please order the replacement, 776620-001. Therefore  776620-001 is the right AC adapter (charger).

Regards.
