Hi, i have a question. Since i have an omen 16-c0004sl gaming laptop, to have the best performance i have to keep it plugged in. Unfortunately, HP doesn't provide a battery charge limiter to gaming laptops, but only to business laptops (which has no sense to me). So i decided to keep it plugged in all the time with the battery at 100%. When the battery is fully charged, the ac power stops charging it and the computer runs only on ac power and not on battery power, is that right?
My question is, keeping the laptop always plugged in, with the battery at 100% and at low temperatures such as 20-25-30°C, is dangerous for the battery itself? In this way i can avoid increasing the battery cycles and i can use the laptop with full performance without damaging the battery by using it and charging it every time increasing the battery cycles number.

Well its not dangerous for the battery as you note the charging system stops power flowing to charge the battery when it hits 100%. The system also only registers a 'cycle' when power drops below a preset level usually 95% then is charged back up. So if you keep it plugged in all the time it will not register cycles. I have a workstation laptop machine I keep plugged in all the time and it does not register battery cycles. However, you do run a bit of a risk of battery swelling so a good idea to purposely remove AC power, run the battery down to say 40-50% then charge it up once a month or every other month. These are very good questions, however.
