HP Omen 17-an008nl
Hi all. Last year I owned a 17" Omen that had an issue with kensington lock and opened a new thread here. Now I own the new 17" Omen series and it has the same issue! My kensington lock (that works like a charm with all other devices) just fits in the hole but can't rotate.

So now I was wondering if HP is using new locks called Noble Locks? It's quite absurde that on 2 PCs, both have a defective kensington lock hole.

Online I didn't find any info about the type of locks used on both the old 17 w102nl and this new one 17 an008nl.

Thanks for your support.
Francesco.

Same here.  Just purchased a new Omen 15 for AI/ML & geospatial development.

Tried two different Kensington brand cable locks in slot, insert fully into slot, both only turn part way.  Tested both directions, with rubber bumper off to allow more space - nothing allows the lock to turn to close/lock.

Locks work in another Acer and a MacBook Pro laptop.

Been running HP workstations for years, not impressed.

As discussed in this recent thread (click), some HP laptops have a Kensington Nano slot, for which the correct lock is a Kensington Nanosaver (or the HP branded version of that lock).

I am not aware of any manufacturer other than Dell using Noble locks.

Hi David and thanks for your reply.
I didn't know about this different type of locks used mainly on thin notebooks, anyway I find it quite strange to use a microsaver on an Omen (that is everything except thin) but most of all I think HP could advertise a little more its customers about this difference or at lest write it in technical specs on the website.
I'll try to buy a nanosaver and let you know if it works.

Thanks again,
Francesco.
