HP Laptop - 15-ef0025wm
Microsoft Windows 11

I have had my HP for over 2 years and it has been great up until last week. My keyboard is now adding random "periods" between letters (like my subject line above) as I type and sometimes just interrupts my writing with runalong "periods(...........)." Even opening new tabs, the runalong periods appears before I even begin typing. I have tried restarting my computer, running a diagnostic test which came up empty, I have tried uninstalling the keyboard software + restart, and nothing. I am running out of ideas. Please help.

Hello, and Welcome to the HP Support Community!

It seems like a stuck period key!!   Spilled any liquid on it?  Have you tried gently cleaning around it?

Can you borrow an external USB keyboard and plug it into your laptop?  See if the issue goes away.

Hi,

Thank you for your input.

I have not spilled anything on it. I used it one night, closed my laptop, needed the latop the following night and the issue appeared.

yes I have tried cleaning it and seeing if anything is stuck there, nothing still.

I do not have an external USB  keyboard plug so I will ask around or buy one and try within the next few days and update if I still need help or if it works.
