Hello.
I have a Spectre x360 - 15-df1045nr.
For the first two years, I encountered no problems with the keyboard backlight.
But for the last year, the keyboard backlight hasn't been working correctly, (or as it used to).
The "Off" setting works.
The "Timeout" setting works, though I remember it being longer than
The "Always On" setting does not work. Timing out at 25 seconds.
Also, the keyboard backlight setting has disappeared from my notifications toolbar, and the pop-up saying the "backlight has been set to ****" (something like that, I don't remember perfectly).
Why does my keyboard backlight time out when on "Always On", and why can't I see the setting for it anymore?

Hi @EDragon
Welcome to the HP Support Community. Thanks for bringing this to our notice.
I see that you are facing keyboard backlight-related issues on your system. Do not worry, we are here to fix it.
May I know from when are you facing this issue?
Did you make any hardware or software-related changes to it?
Not every Notebook Model has the option to adjust the backlight timings. Most notebooks only have the option to Turn ON and Turn OFF the Back Light
I suggest you check if the settings are available
Your BIOS version and screens might vary.
Restart the notebook, and then immediately press the F10 repeatedly until the BIOS opens.
When the BIOS opens, use the arrow keys to navigate to the Advanced tab.
Navigate to Built-in Device Options, and then press Enter.
In the Built-in Device Options, select Backlit keyboard timeout.
Press the spacebar to open the keyboard backlight settings, and then select the timeout setting you want.
NOTE: If you select Never, the backlight remains on which could quickly drain the notebook battery power.
Note: If there is not a setting for the backlight timing in the BIOS, this behavior might not be supported on the notebook. Check your notebook model's product support documentation to confirm support.

My laptop DOES have the option to turn the keyboard backlight on "time-out" mode, but I cannot find anywhere to change that timing.
My BIOS does not have an advanced settings tab, nor "built-in device settings".
This probably started happening after I had to replace the SSD. My computer completely died/failed, I lost at least a year of data and files, and could not have continued using the device without a new SSD.
So now what do I do?
