Hi,

So I've had this laptop for about 3 years and it was all working fine until my little brother stepped on it and the screen cracked. I sent it off for repair with an insurance company I was with at the time and when it got sent back, the backlit keyboard had stopped working.

The only way it turns on is if i press hard and hold down onto the F5 key, so it is still capable of working... I'm just not sure how to get it to stay on.

Thanks in advance 🙂

If you need to keep pressing the F5 key to use it, is it because the backlight cable is installed badly? Basically, as long as you press F5 (or F4, with a backlight symbol), the backlight is turned on, but the backlight time seems to be different depending on the settings, as if the backlight time can be set in the BIOS.
