Victus by HP 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop 15-fa0000 (599K0AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Dear HP Support Team,

I am reaching out regarding a persistent keyboard ghosting issue I am experiencing on my HP Victus 15 gaming laptop. I have encountered a significant problem specifically when playing Fortnite, but the issue may extend to other high-input scenarios as well.

Issue Description: While playing Fortnite, I am unable to execute certain key combinations that are critical for optimal gameplay. Specifically, when I press the "WASD" keys (for movement), along with "Shift" (for sprinting) and "X" (assigned for a specific in-game action), the "X" key does not register. This problem is hindering my ability to perform essential actions in the game.

Troubleshooting Steps Taken:

  1. Verified that individual keys work correctly outside of this specific combination, indicating that the keys themselves are functional.
  2. Tested the keyboard for ghosting using online tools, confirming that the issue occurs with the mentioned combination of keys.
  3. Updated all relevant drivers and checked for any available firmware or BIOS updates for my laptop model.
  4. Attempted to rebind keys within the game to different functions, which provided a temporary workaround but did not solve the underlying ghosting issue.

Given that the HP Victus 15 is a gaming-oriented laptop, this limitation is quite impactful for my user experience. I am seeking assistance in understanding whether this is a known hardware limitation of this model, or if there are any potential solutions or workarounds you might recommend. Additionally, I would appreciate any information on whether firmware or BIOS updates could address this issue, or if there are any plans for such updates in the near future.

Please help 😞
