The keyboard of my laptop, and HP Pavilion model 15-cc023cl is no longer responding to any keystrokes.  I tried to remove and re-install keyboard drivers but it did not help.

Troubleshooting a Non-Responsive Keyboard on HP Pavilion 15-cc023cl

If the keyboard on your HP Pavilion 15-cc023cl laptop is not responding, try the following steps to troubleshoot the issue:

Check Physical Connection:

  • Make sure the keyboard is properly connected. If it's a wireless keyboard, ensure the batteries are working and it's within range of the receiver. For internal laptop keyboards, make sure no dirt or debris is hindering the keys.

Restart Your Laptop:

  • Sometimes a simple restart can resolve the issue. Press "Ctrl + Alt + Delete" and select "Restart". If this does not work, press and hold the power button for several seconds to force a shutdown and then restart.

Reset BIOS Defaults:

  • Restart your computer and repeatedly press "Esc" to enter the Start-Up Menu. Then press "F10" to enter the BIOS Setup. Navigate through the BIOS menu to reset to default settings. Save changes and exit.

System Restore:

  • Use Microsoft System Restore to return your computer to a previous state when the keyboard was working:
    • Go to "Start", search for "System Restore", and open it.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to select a restore point and restore your system.

Run Windows Troubleshooter:

  • Go to "Start", search for "Troubleshoot settings", and open it.
  • Under "Find and fix problems", select "Keyboard" and run the troubleshooter.
