That thought did cross my mind, though I have a wireless mouse so usually switch off the mouse pad. It is conceivable that I might have forgotten to turn it off on some occasions, and that's what caused the problem!
In response to the earlier post - my other half has a keyboard I should be able to borrow and test with. I will keep you posted 🙂

@NerdWhale,
Just thought I check back with you, and see where you able to test the other keyboard out?
Please respond back at your earliest convenience.
Thanks

I can turn mine off and still does it! I noticed somebody ask about wireless keyboard. I didn't pay this amount of money to use a wireless keyboard! Although I do use it sometimes, it still jumps around!! This is fun and my hand has a hammer, and I'm ready to use it!! I'm tied of this crap notebook, my custom build piece of crap...putting it nicely!! SORRY! To those who can't handle the truth! No I'm not SORRY to those!! My attitude after using my dream notebook!!

Thank you. It is now 2017 and I had the same problem with my HP Pavilion Laptop bought in 2016. Followed this procedure and it appears to have worked to stop the cursor from jumping all over the place and initating commands that I did not engage.
