HP 14 Ultra Light Laptop for Students
Microsoft Windows 11

We are buying this model for a close friend in Columbia (country). I know Windows 11 allows the user to convert to Spanish. Is the keyboard also able to be Spanish since that is his primary language? I am not asking about buying the model. I am asking about the keyboard.

@FriarPhil, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Yes, the HP 14 Ultra Light Laptop for Students can be configured to use a Spanish keyboard layout, even if it's initially set to an English one. In Windows 11, you can change the keyboard layout to Spanish by following these steps:

  1. Open Settings: Press Win + I to open the Settings menu.
  2. Go to Time & Language: Select Time & Language from the left menu.
  3. Select Language & Region: Under the "Language & Region" section, click on it.
  4. Add a Language: Click on Add a language and search for Spanish (Colombia) or any other Spanish variant.
  5. Change Keyboard Layout: After adding Spanish, you can click on the three dots next to the Spanish language and select Language options, then under Keyboards, choose Spanish (Latin America) or another Spanish variant as your default keyboard layout.

This process will switch the input method for the keyboard to the Spanish layout, with different key mappings compared to an English keyboard. The physical keyboard, however, will remain as is unless you purchase a model specifically with a Spanish layout printed on the keys.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
