Microsoft Windows 11

I want to increase the time period of my backlit keyboard's light and many articles shows that the option is in BIOS when you press F10 while restarting the sysytem. I did it but the option was not there and some people say that this is not available in intel processor but why.....i want to know how can i do it. HP can personally call me if they want to know the serial number or something about the laptop.

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you want to change the Backlight timeout settings, I am glad to assist you.

If the backlight turns on for only a few seconds, the backlight timeout setting might need to be configured in the BIOS.

  • Restart the notebook, and then immediately press f10 repeatedly until the BIOS opens.
  • When the BIOS opens, use the arrow keys to navigate to the Advanced tab.
  • Navigate to Built-in Device Options, and then press enter.
  • Built-in device options
  • In Built-in Device Options, select Backlit keyboard timeout.
  • Press the spacebar to open the keyboard backlight settings, and then select a timeout setting.

NOTE:

If there is not setting for the backlight timing in the BIOS, this behavior might not be supported on the notebook. Check your notebook model's product support documentation to confirm support.
