Laptop keyboard defected and \ key is stuck, as well many keys do not respond.
I use an external keyboard now. However, MS Edge keeps opening "how to get help in windows - Search (bing.com) " site repetitively. Also when I input text, sometimes \ \ \ \ \ \ \ character is automatically input infinitely (I have cleaned the key, but that did not solve the problem. How can I permanently deactivate HP laptop keyboard and use the external one only?
Thanks.

One stuck key can cause the other keys to mis-behave.
Laptop keys can be replaced. Some models are more difficult than others. Usually it is easier to replace a key or two than the keyboard.
There are a number of companies
https://www.laptop-keys.com/
https://www.google.com/search?q=ebay+replace+key+on+hp+laptop
https://www.laptopkeyreplacements.com
https://laptopkey.com/
This site has videos and I guessed at your laptop model.
