HP ENVY 17.3 inch Laptop PC 17-cr0000 (538A1AV)

I recently bought an HP Envy and the keyboard keeps freezing multiple times a day. The only solution seems to be restarting, which is infuriating as I use it for work with tight deadlines and lots of opened files. Is this a common problem and is there an easy fix? I've checked the BIOS etc. and everything is up to date.
