Hi @Binkyclarke,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for sharing the details of your keyboard issue, and sorry to hear about the trouble. Based on the information provided, it appears that your system has reported 20 bad keys and 83 good keys, which suggests a hardware-level keyboard malfunction. Some keys not registering or triggering incorrect inputs also confirms this.

To assist you further, may I kindly ask:

From where did you obtain this failure code?

  • Was this result shown after running HP's built-in diagnostics, a third-party tool, or another method?

Next Step: Please Run the HP Hardware Diagnostics (Extensive Test)

We’d like you to re-run HP's built-in hardware test for accuracy:

1) Shut down the computer.

2) Turn the computer back on again and repeatedly tap on the ESC until a Startup menu appears.

3) Press F2 once.

4) Go to Component test.

5) From the list, run the Hard Drive (extensive) test.

After the Test:

  • If a failure code appears again, please take a clear photo of it and share it with us
  • This will help us validate the issue and determine the correct next steps

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
