Hi @Ramine,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with the Keyboard lag on your HP ENVY x360 running Windows 11 can be frustrating, but it is a relatively common issue that can have several causes. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem:
1. Update Drivers and Windows
- Keyboard Driver: Ensure your keyboard driver is up to date. You can do this by going to Device Manager, finding your keyboard under "Keyboards," right-clicking, and selecting "Update driver."
- Windows Update: Make sure your Windows 11 is up to date. Go to Settings > Windows Update and check for updates.
2. Check for Software Interference
- Background Processes: Sometimes, background processes can cause lag. Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) and check if any processes are using a high amount of CPU or memory.
- Antivirus Software: Temporarily disable any antivirus software to see if it’s causing the lag.
3. Keyboard Settings
- Filter Keys: Ensure that Filter Keys is not turned on. Go to Settings > Accessibility > Keyboard and make sure Filter Keys is turned off.
- Keyboard Layout: Make sure the correct keyboard layout is selected. Go to Settings > Time & Language > Language & Region and check your keyboard layout.
4. Performance Settings
- Power Plan: Set your power plan to High Performance. Go to Control Panel > Power Options and select High Performance.
- Graphics Settings: Ensure that your graphics settings are optimized for performance, especially if you’re using the laptop in tablet mode or for graphics-intensive applications.
5. BIOS Update
- Check if there is a BIOS update available for your HP ENVY x360. You can do this by visiting the HP Support website, entering your model number, and checking for BIOS updates.
6. Hardware Issues HP PCs - Testing for hardware failures
- External Devices: Disconnect any external devices to see if they are causing interference.
- Keyboard Hardware: If possible, test with an external keyboard to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is with the built-in keyboard or something else.
7. System Scan
- SFC and DISM: Run the System File Checker (sfc /scannow) and the Deployment Imaging Service and Management Tool (DISM) commands to check for and repair corrupted system files.
- Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
- Type sfc /scannow and press Enter.
- After the scan completes, type DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth and press Enter.
8. Reset Windows
- If all else fails, you may need to consider resetting Windows. Go to Settings > System > Recovery > Reset this PC. Choose to keep your files or remove everything and follow the prompts.
