Hi @59111,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To turn on the keyboard backlight on your HP Laptop 14s, follow these steps.

Locate the Keyboard Backlight Key: Look for a key with a symbol that resembles a keyboard with light rays coming out of it. It’s usually one of the function keys (F1 to F12) and might have a sun or light icon on it.

Use the Keyboard Backlight Key:

  • Press the Fn key (usually located at the bottom-left of your keyboard).
  • While holding down the Fn key, press the key with the keyboard backlight symbol.

Adjust Brightness: Some HP laptops allow you to adjust the brightness of the keyboard backlight. You can cycle through different brightness levels or toggle the backlight on/off by pressing the same key combination repeatedly.

If the keyboard backlight is not turning on, ensure that:

  • Your laptop supports a backlit keyboard (not all models do).
  • The drivers for your keyboard and chipset are up-to-date.

If these steps don't work, check your laptop’s user manual or HP’s support website for model-specific instructions.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

See chapter 2, page 10 of the user manual for your laptop at the link below. You should probably save the link.
