Hey there! @Erannna

Have you tried checking with an external keyboard does the issue persist?

Was there any liquid split on the Notebook Keyboard?

Is there any Dust settled on the Notebook Keyboard?

Try updating the BIOS on the PC to the latest version and check if it helps.

Update the BIOS using this link. Click Here

Also, restart your PC keep tapping the F11 key on your PC before the PC boots, you will see the recovery manager screen.

Open the command prompt from the list and check if all the keys on your PC are functioning correctly.

Try few steps recommended below.

Turn off the computer and then restart it.
Press the Esc key repeatedly to see if a startup menu opens.
If a setup menu does not open, the integrated keyboard hardware is not working. The integrated keyboard in the notebook should be serviced or replaced. To continue using the notebook, connect a USB-wired keyboard to a USB port and restart the computer.
If a setup menu opens, use the arrow keys to navigate the menus. If these keys are working in the startup menu, but then fail when Windows loads, the problems might be related to the keyboard software.
Restart the computer.
In Device Manager, uninstall and reinstall the keyboard software:
In Windows, search for and open Device Manager.
Click View and select Show Hidden Devices.
Click the arrow next to Keyboards, right-click the keyboard device name, then select Uninstall to remove the device from Windows.
Continue removing device names in the Keyboards category until all device names have been uninstalled.
Restart the notebook. Right-click Start (), select Shut down or sign out, then select Restart.
Wait for the computer to restart and open Windows.

Turn off the Sticky Keys feature on your Windows.

The Sticky Keys feature, besides, Toggle Keys and Filter Keys, make your keyboard easier to type. However, sometimes they make trouble. Your Shift key stops working is the one. So make sure these features are not turned on.

Follow these:

1) On your keyboard, press the Windows logo key and I (at the same time) to invoke the Settings window.

2) Click Ease of Access.
3) Select Keyboard on the left pane. Then make sure the status of Sticky Keys, Toggle Keys and Filter Keys are all set to Off. If there is anyone set to On, switch it to Off instead.
4) Press the Shift key on your keyboard to see if it work.

Let me know if this helps!

Have a blessed day ahead! 🙂

Hi, thank you for responding. i had tried all the methods you mentioned.

working fine with external keyboard but when we detach external keyboard still problem exists.

I have updated BIOS and reinstalled drivers and even also reloaded OS, Though problem still exists.

This is just to remind that laptop does not have any physical damage or there is not any liquid split on the Notebook Keyboard till now and regularly cleaning keyboard from dust. This issue is not only for my laptop my friend has same issue with same laptop ie, HP15 BS180tx. Please recheck this model laptop. if Therse is any problem let me know.

Hi! @Erannna,

Thanks for the update.

As the external keyboard is functioning correctly, it certainly sounds like a hardware issue with the laptop keyboard.
