Hi!

I know this is a 5 year old laptop but mine is in very neat condition. The only major upgrade I need Is to upgrade the lcd to (hopefully) a matte FHD IPS panel. The HD+ resolution really looks pixelated when you have two applications side by side. I think it has a 40 pin connector but I'm not sure. I'm pretty happy to do a DIY upgrade but need to confirm couple things:

Can this laptop support a FHD panel?

What connector type am I looking for?

If so would any 15.6" FHD panel with the right connector type work?

If there is any specific or recommended panels to upgrade to I'd appreciate. Thanks!

Hi,

You will need to also replace the display cable:

Display panel full HD cable for non-Touchscreen models (includes web camera/microphone module cable and screws) for HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC computermodels                     part number  762544-001

Try searching with the part number online in your country. Once you have replaced the cable you can replace the screen to a Full HD screen (part number 764623-001). You can choose one with the right dimensions and connection.

Example:

https://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=764623-001&_sacat=0

Starting one page 79of service manual you can see the various steps to perform the upgrade.
